Indian stocks recover losses as banks and metals offset a decline in IT.

 Reuters, Dec. 12: BENGALURU The decrease in IT stocks was partially offset by gains in the banking, metal, and auto sectors on Monday, while traders also prepared for later-scheduled local retail inflation data.

As of 10:50 a.m. IST, the S&P BSE Sensex (.BSESN) was up 0.02% to 62,195, while the Nifty 50 index (.NSEI) increased 0.07% to 18,509.15. At opening, both benchmarks had decreased by 0.8%.

With the exception of Nifty IT (.NIFTYIT), all the major sectoral indices increased, and the tech index also reversed intraday losses.
