The improvements to the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato
A number of changes are made to the Huracan Sterrato to prepare it for off-road driving. To accommodate extra suspension travel, Lamborghini enlarged the front and rear tracks by 30mm and 34mm, respectively, while raising the ground clearance by 44mm. It gains stronger sills, an aluminium front underbody shield, and a roof-mounted air intake that improve the engine's air intake across stale tracks.
The Huracan Sterrato sports an updated vehicle dynamic pack, or LDVI (Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics), that has retuned Strada and Sport modes and added a new Rally mode to the supercar.
Additionally, the off-road capable supercar receives new 19-inch alloy wheels, which are smaller than the Huracan's standard wheels and are fitted with exclusive Bridgestone Dueler AT002 tyres. The run-flat dual-purpose tyres have run-flat technology and are 235/40-R19 up front and 285/40-R19 back.
Performance of the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato
It has the same 5.2-liter, normally aspirated V10 engine as the base Huracan, but it makes 610 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque instead. The Sterrato has 30 fewer horsepower and 40 fewer newtons of torque than the standard Huracan.
Power is distributed to all four wheels via an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system and a mechanical rear self-locking differential when the engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Sterrato, according to Lamborghini, has a 0-100kph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 260kph. While its top speed is 60kph less than the Huracan AWD, it takes 0.5 seconds longer to accelerate from 0 to 100kph.
Huracan Sterrato by Lamborghini: exterior and interior
A reinforced stone guard and two spot lamps are also added to the Huracan Sterrato in addition to the clear visual indicator of the elevated ride height. It gets thick side skirts, roof rails, and bolt-on, tough fender flares in profile, and a redesigned diffuser at the back with a better departure angle.
The Huracan Sterrato was displayed with a white paint job with red and green accents to resemble the colours of the Italian flag. Although there aren't many cosmetic improvements inside, it does get new Alcantara Verde upholstery and touchscreen graphics.
Special off-road features include a compass, digital inclinometer with pitch and roll indicators, steering angle indication, and geographic coordinate indicator. A connected telemetry system is also included with the Sterrato, allowing the driver to use a mobile app to track performance and analyse data.
Huracan Sterrato and Lamborghini rivals
The Huracan Sterrato occupies a specialised space in the supercar market. It competes with the Porsche 911 Dakar on a global scale, but it won't be arriving to India because there aren't any allocations for it.
