100 mini Apple stores will be opened by Tata Group in India : report

 


Apple is negotiating to open 500 to 600 square foot stores with Tata-owned Infiniti Retail, which operates Croma stores.

Soon, the Tata Group will launch 100 compact, exclusive Apple stores with 500–600 square feet of space each. According to a report by the Economic Times (ET), Apple is in negotiations for the outlets with Tata-owned Infiniti Retail. The Croma outlets in India are operated by Infiniti Retail.

In addition to opening in malls, high streets, and neighbourhood areas, Apple stores will also be smaller than Apple Premium Reseller stores. Premium Reseller shops typically cover 1,000 square feet. Watches, iPads, and iPhones will be available at the smaller shops.A retail consultant who is aware of the idea informed ET that Tata has already begun talks with upscale malls and high streets for space.

Mumbai is set to host the opening of Apple's first company-owned flagship shop in India during the third quarter of March.The experts in the field also stated that Apple has informed its regional franchise partners that its corporate stores boost sales for both partners and merchants.

Between July and September, approximately 1.7 million iPhones were sold in India, claims CyberMedia Research (CMR).Apple is concentrating on increasing sales in India and intends to increase its capacity for production.According to a different Mint article, the three Indian manufactures Wistron, Foxconn, and Pegatron have also been instructed to increase their output by threefold over the next two years. To do that, the Cupertino-based computer behemoth is expanding its assembly lines and workforce.

According to a business expert, "They're aiming to scale up the volumes that they make from India...it potentially climb by more than three times what they want to make this year." The nation might even be able to export iPhones built in India thanks to this.
