Delhi :Maruti Suzuki displays a WagonR Flex-fuel prototype.

 

In comparison to the regular WagonR, the Flex-fuel prototype running on E85 fuel will assist cut tailpipe emissions by 79%.

A flex-fuel prototype built on the WagonR was unveiled by Maruti Suzuki at the SIAM Ethanol Technology Exhibition in New Delhi.

According to reports, the Maruti WagonR Flex-fuel is the country's first mass-market vehicle that can run on a gasoline blend containing 20–85% ethanol. The vehicle was created internally at Maruti with assistance from Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan.There are rumours that Maruti Suzuki changed the WagonR's engine quite a bit. These consist of an improved fuel pump, fuel injectors, and other engine parts, as well as a modified engine control system. A heated fuel rail and an ethanol sensor to measure the amount of ethanol are added to the engine's new fuel system.

The WagonR Flex-fuel prototype running on E85 fuel will assist lower tailpipe emissions by 79% compared to the normal WagonR while maintaining the same performance, claims Hisashi Takeuchi, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
