A flex-fuel prototype built on the WagonR was unveiled by Maruti Suzuki at the SIAM Ethanol Technology Exhibition in New Delhi.
According to reports, the Maruti WagonR Flex-fuel is the country's first mass-market vehicle that can run on a gasoline blend containing 20–85% ethanol. The vehicle was created internally at Maruti with assistance from Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan.There are rumours that Maruti Suzuki changed the WagonR's engine quite a bit. These consist of an improved fuel pump, fuel injectors, and other engine parts, as well as a modified engine control system. A heated fuel rail and an ethanol sensor to measure the amount of ethanol are added to the engine's new fuel system.
