In the near future, experts predict that 5G in India will improve online gaming, farming, education, and more.

With an average of almost 25 GB each month, India has the largest data traffic per smartphone worldwide. By 2028, the same is anticipated to increase at a CAGR of 14% to 54 GB each month.

By improving infrastructure and advancing the economy, 5G in India will provide the general public more influence. In addition to enhancing the economy and quality of life, the 5G evolution will stimulate and grow the online gaming industry, particularly cloud gaming. Cloud gaming will be quite popular in India with 5G. By January 2023, India will have 30 million 5G customers, according to Umang Jindal, Head of Network Solutions Software and Performance at Ericsson, who made the announcement to BGR at the BGR.in Tech Excellence Awards 2022.

It is a well-known truth that 5G will have an impact on metropolitan areas, but it will also have an impact on rural areas when it comes to agricultural growth. Beyond agriculture, the 5G revolution will significantly alter the educational system and improve cottage industries, according to Jindal.

India has the largest data traffic average per smartphone in the world, at over 25 GB per month. By 2028, the same is anticipated to increase at a CAGR of 14% to 54 GB each month. India continues to have substantial smartphone traffic since internet is widely available and data rates are extremely low. By the end of 2022, 4G will have the most subscribers, and in the years to come, 5G will displace these users. When compared to the 4G network in places like Europe, 5G is more expensive. A premium of about 40% is charged by about 25% of network providers for the 5G network, which has an effect on the adoption rate.

The adoption of 5G games on cloud and mobile platforms will fuel the next phase of gaming growth. According to a recent analysis by Sequoia India and BCG, India's gaming sector currently generates $1.5 billion in revenue and is projected to increase threefold to more than $5 billion by 2025."High-speed visual games for gaming will undoubtedly gain popularity with 5G. At the BGR.in Tech Excellence Awards 2022, Anku Jain, Managing Director of MediaTek India, predicted that cloud gaming would improve as technology advanced.

All things considered, India would benefit greatly from 5G connection, especially its rural people. According to UN urbanisation statistics, there are currently 7.6 billion people living in the world, of which 4.2 billion call cities and 3.4 billion rural areas home. 9.8 billion people are expected to live on the planet by 2050, with 6.7 billion living in urban regions and 3.1 billion in rural ones. The quick rise in population in cities will inevitably expand the wealth disparity, result in the development of slums, and cause issues with transportation and health care.

As a result of service providers' inability to produce a business case for their returns that matched the infrastructure investment needs, 3G and 4G have significant connectivity challenges in rural areas. With its huge speed and coverage upgrades over 4G and its low latency, 5G will completely transform rural industries like farming."With the deployment of 5G in rural India, the agriculture sector would be significantly impacted. The efficiency of agriculture would increase in addition to industry. Drones will have an impact on agriculture with 5G by analysing data in the best way possible for farmers to make improvements, Jain concluded.
