December 1st is recognised as World AIDS Day.

Globe AIDS Day 2022: On December 1 of each year, the entire world observes World AIDS Day. People come together from all over the world to support those who are impacted by and living with HIV as well as to mourn those who have died from AIDS. The day serves to increase global awareness of the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome problem and to bring people together. The day offers a chance for people all over the world to come together in the fight against HIV, to support those who are living with HIV, and to remember those who have passed away from an AIDS-related illness.

2022 World AIDS Day: Theme

The theme for World AIDS Day in 2022 is "equalise." The motto is a call to action, claims UNAIDS. It is a call to action for all of us to pursue the tried-and-true methods required to redress disparities and aid in the eradication of AIDS.

2022 World AIDS Day: Importance

The purpose of World AIDS Day is to combat the stigma associated with the disease and to emphasise the importance of offering care and support to those who are already afflicted. The Covid-19 pandemic has merely increased the difficulties facing the HIV pandemic, as is the case with the majority of significant public health crises.

History of World AIDS Day

James W. Bunn and Thomas Netter first established World AIDS Day in August 1988 in an effort to gain some measure of control over the pandemic that had already claimed the lives of so many people. Thomas Netter and James W Bunn both served as public affairs representatives for the World Health Organization's AIDS Global Program. When the first World AIDS Day was commemorated in 1988, it was thought that between 90,000 and 150,000 people had HIV, which causes AIDS. Dr. Johnathan Mann, the director of the AIDS Global Program, was informed of their plan to observe this day, and he gave his approval for December 1. Medical practises and research have significantly advanced for the care since the 1990s.
